Hailing from Whangarei New Zealand, Sophie Sparrow is an international soprano and performer currently based in the UK as a freelance singer and performer. She performs regularly throughout the UK and New Zealand.
During the 2025/26 season Sophie covers Phyllis in Glyndebourne’s new production of The Railway Children by Mark-Anthony Turnage, have her role and company debut as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with New Zealand Opera, perform Phyllis in The Railway Children at Wales Musicfest Aberystwyth, and cover Blonde in Die Entführung aus dem Serial at Glyndebourne Festival Opera 2026 Summer season.
In 2025 Sophie toured the south of England as Mabel and in the ensemble of ThePirates of Penzance and toured New Zealand with her concert tour Eternal Romance: An Operatic Affair.
She performed at Glyndebourne Festival Opera jumping in for Barbarina on Tuesday 22nd July 2025. Sophie also performed First Bridesmaid (Le Nozze di Figaro), covering Barbarina and a Blumenmädchen (Parsifal) and in the festival chorus.
